WORLD CHINA NETWORK ASSOCIATION (WCNA)      

The World China Network Association (WCNA) is a non-for-profit international organization aiming at the development of international networks between the World and China, to help the World focus on China and China open to the World. WCNA’s head office is located in Montreal, Canada.

WCNA’s global networks: North America-China Network (NACN), Latin America-China Network (LACN), Europe-China Network (EUCN), Asia Pacific-China Network (APCN) and Africa-China Network (AFCN). 

WCNA’s multinational networks: Commonwealth-China Network (CCN), OIF-China Network (OIFCN), OEI-China (OEICN), CIS-China Network (CISCN), AL-China Network (ALCN) and etc.

WCNA’s professional networks: World China Economic and Social Network (WCESN), World China Science and Technology Network (WCSTN), World China Education and Training Network (WCETN) and World China Culture and Arts Network (WCCAN).

 INTERNATIONAL SERVICES FROM WCNA   

  • facilitate international business cooperation, social development and multicultural exchanges with Chinese partners

  • recommend business, technological, educational and cultural opportunities from China

  • form international networking teams for joint projects with China

  • promote international professional events in China

  • support the World China networking activities of the members relevant to WCNA

  • deliver other services as applicable

2009  
A meeting with the Chief of Creative Economy and Industries Programme, UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) in Geneva. (2009) 
A meeting with the Chief, NGO Branch, Department of Economic and Social Affairs, UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) in the City of New York. (2009) 
A network with the Chief of Division for Knowledge management and Operations & Special Unite for South-south Cooperation, UN Development Programme (UNDP) in China. (2009) 
A meeting with the Assistant Director-General for Communication and Information, UNESCO in Paris. (2009)
A meeting with the Coordinator of Health Technology & Facilities Planning Department for Health System Governance and Service Delivery, World Health Organization (WHO) in Geneva. (2009) 
Assisting the promotion for the global multimedia network with China for International Federation of Multimedia Associations (FIAM), during the period of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS 2009), hosted by ITU, UNESCO, UNCTAD and UNDP, in Geneva.  
A networking with Mr. José Miguel Insulza, Secretary General, Organization of American States (OAS) during the period of CBF. (2009) 
Visiting Organisation internationale de la Francophonie (OIF) in Paris. (2009) 
A networking with Mr. Kamalesh Sharma, Secretary General, The Commonwealth during the period of CBF. (2009) 
Attending the Commonwealth Business Luncheon Meeting, invited by Commonwealth Business Council (CBC) in London. Hon Patrick Manning, Prime Minister, Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, delivered a presentation for the meeting. (2009) 
Delivering a presentation on PPPs, as a Speaker, for the Public Private Partnerships: Accelerating Infrastructure Development, Commonwealth Business Forum, and also promoting the Commonwealth-China business network in Trinidad and Tobago. (2009)

Attending to the 5th Asia-Pacific Chinese Entrepreneurial Leaders Forum, invited by Asia-Pacific Chinese Entrepreneurs Association,and meeting with the Deputy Governor of Hainan Province on international business opportunities with Hainan.
A discussion with the Representative of EU Commission on energy and environment. 
A discussion with the President of Europe-China Commercial Union (ECCU) on international networking with China. 
Participating in the Haikou Overseas Think Tank Inaugural Conference, as an Overseas Senior Advisor to Haikou Municipal Government.

2007  
WCNA was involving in preparation for “Blue Book on Culture: Annual Report on World Cultural Industries (2007)”, in cooperation with UNESCO Institute of Statistics (UIS), published by Social Sciences Academy Press (China).
  Mr. Ping Li, President of WCNA, is nominated as the Vice Chairman of “Blue Book on Culture” Editorial Committee, and the Editor-in-Chief for the Book of “Blue Book on Culture: Annual Report on World Cultural Industries”.
  The Chairmen of “Blue Book on Culture” Editorial Committee include: the Vice President of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and the President of Shenzhen Municipal Culture Bureau.
  The Vice Chairmen of Editorial Committee include: Director of Research Centre for Humanities (CASS), the Vice President of Shenzhen Municipal Culture Bureau, the Executive of UNESCO Institute of Statistics, the President of WCNA.
The members of Editorial Committee include: the Acting Director of Creative Industries Division, World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO); the Head of Science/Culture/Communication Statistics; UNESCO Institute of Statistics; the President of International Federation of Multimedia Associations (FIAM); the Co-Chairperson of International Design Alliance (IDA); the President & CEO of International Festivals and Events (IFEA); the Senior Vice President of International Publishers Association (IPA); the Director of Cultural Services Department of China’s Ministry of Commerce, etc.

WCNA was invited to attend the 2nd China-Caribbean Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum in China. 
2006  
A discussion between WCNA ITC (UN) about promoting the global trade network with China. 
A discussion about Commonwealth-China networking development between Commonwealth and WCNA in London 
The President of European Union Chamber of Commerce in China and the President of WCNA were received by the Vice Mayor of Xiamen. 
A meeting between WTC Moscow and WCNA in Moscow for promoting Russia-China business networks 
The representative of WCNA was invited to make a presentation for the 5th Roundtable Conference for International Chamber Partnership, during the period of CIFIT in Xiamen. 
The representative of WCNA studied the 2nd China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair, hosted by China’s Ministry of Culture. 
The representative of WCNA was invited to deliver an address to the Combination of Civilization: Olympics and Cultural China Image, organized by Humanistic Olympic Studies Centre at Remin University of China. 
As a member of IFEA, WCNA was invited to attend the Annual Conference of International Festivals and Events Association (IFEA) in Ottawa to promote the global network with China on festivals. 
2005  
A meeting about future cooperation possibilities on cultural statistics for Chinese projects between WCNA and UNESCO Institute of Statistics.

A meeting about developing OAS-China business networks between OAS and WCNA in Washington D.C. 

The representative of WCNA was invited to participated in the 8th World Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention in Seoul. 
2004  
A discussion between WCNA representative and African and Latin American representatives of INCD Steering Committee for Latin America-Africa-China cultural networking.
A meeting in Montreal between WCNA and China Trade Centre for promoting the Chinese Export Commodities Fair.
The representative of WCNA visited the UNESCO Office (Beijing).

The International Investment Forum

The International Investment Forum, organized by the Economic Information Department of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and WCNA, in Xi’an International Convention Centre, Xi’an, China will be held on April 7, 2005, during the period of the Sino-Foreign Enterprises Cooperation Projects Matchmaking Seminar, the 4th China Western Region Foreign Investment Promotion Fairs (Inwest) and the 9th Investment & Trade Forum for Cooperation between East & West China (ITFCEWC). The main topics of the forum include:

  • multinational investment in China,
  • global investment opportunities for Chinese investors
  • international regulations and financial services on FDI,
  • world investment networking with China.

7th China Beijing International High-Tech Expo

The representative of WCNA is invited to deliver a speech for the forum on May 22, 2004 from the 7th China Beijing International High-Tech Expo, hosted by China’s Ministry of Science & Technology, Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Information Industry, CCPIT, State Intellectual Property Office, The People’s Government of Beijing Municipality; in cooperation with China Academy of Sciences, China Academy of Engineering, China Enterprise Confederation, China Association for Science and Technology; organized by CCPIT Beijing in Beijing.


A discussion in Beijing on September 14, 2004 between China Education of International Exchange (CEAIE) and WCNA for future cooperation possibilities on international education exchanges.



As an observer, the representative of WCNA was invited to participate in the International Network for Cultural Diversity (INCD) Steering Committee Annual Meeting, organized by INCD, in cooperation with China Federation of Literary and Art Circles (CFLAC), in Shanghai, China on October 11-15.
